The master matte paint for this sequence was an almost 180 degree view of snow covered and rocky mountains, trees, and sky dome. The nuke set-up consisted of many geo layers (both created in nuke and imported from Maya) to give the illusion of parallax.

Maya, Nuke and Photoshop were used to create rock/ice extensions and the layered sky dome.

This star-lit mountain vista was painted so that atmosphere and mountains were separate. I added a slight warping and animation to the atmosphere using Nuke. Maya and Photoshop were also needed to achieve the final look.

Maya, Nuke, and Photoshop created rock extensions and layered skydome.

I setup an almost 180 degree layered sky dome and mountain paint, using Maya, Nuke and Photoshop.

This sequence involved set extension, environment patches, and layered sky dome (with slightly drifting clouds), using Maya, Nuke and Photoshop.

I created layered and slightly animated skies as well as patched ice when the look didn't hold up to the Director's expectations.

The Rock extensions and layered sky dome was also used in the Wonderful Life music video release as a marketing piece.

I painted and set up this layered sky dome, snow and rock extensions for the Wonderful Life sequence using Photoshop, Maya and Nuke.
